Health
Failing health is truly a frightening prospect. We know that our health is more valuable than anything else we could possible have in our life and when we notice that it is failing we are not immune to outright panic. Failing health is one of those signs that we interpret as chaotic and life ending. In reality, most of the time there is more that we can do to prevent our health from failing than we realize. We are just as capable of taking our health into our own hands without much effort, but we don’t look at these options. We hear the opinions of the physicians, if we even have one, and we keep moving into our own worst fears.
Failing health is not the epitome of our destiny. With medical science, our knowledge of alternative methods, and our ability to make our own decisions we can often turn failing health around, or at the very least into a blessing. Failing health no longer means an automatic trip to a nursing home as we age. It no longer means we are useless and we need to live off of the government’s money. In some cases, we need financial and emotional support, but that in no way makes us useless. The only time failing health can turn us into useless people is if we decide that we have become useless. Failing health is often not as bad as we believe it to be. Our mind is often our health’s worst enemy.
